A lecture by Dave Mearns: Reader in Counselling Studies, Strathclyde University and co-author of "Person-Centred Counselling in Action"

In this lecture, Dave explores the intriguing therapeutic processes involved in clients changing self concepts during Person-Centred therapy, where battles may rage between parts of the client's self and where the therapist must engage in a therapeutic relationship with each of the parts.

This video is a recording of the 1994 Annual counselling lecture at Sheffield University (duration 60 five minutes). A transcript of the lecture is provided with the video and this transcription contains details referred to by Dave on overhead projector slides during the lecture.
